Pictures and journal of our Trip to Stone Town, Zanzibar.

We came to Stone Town in 2009-2010, at the end of December and at the beginning of January. We enjoyed walking in its exotic streets. There is plenty to do and see. Palaces, Forts, Old Slave markets, Forodhani Gardens (outdoor food court). There is also a lot of activity going on by the port. Kids playing soccer, others diving from piers, some doing flips. I also enjoyed eating at my favorite place Freddy Mercury, right by the water.
We also enjoyed seating and sipping a cold drink at the Old British Consulate. Where the body of Livingstone layed before being shipped to England.
I enjoyed being walked by improvised guides through the old streets to visit Tippu Tip's house. (Hire a kid to walk you through town, they are cheap and you put food on their table). Stone Town is truly an exotic place and you will not regret your visit.
